TOP 5

Here is a list of my 5 favorite books!

01

The Count of Monte Cristo

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas is my favorite book of all time. Through Edmond Dantes we learn valuable life lessons that we can apply to our own lives. Though revenge may not be for everyone, hope should be for all.

02

Sula

Sula by Toni Morrison is my second favorite book. Rich in detail and personal history we learn a lot about the hard times of blacks in the early 20th century. Motherhood is the biggest theme of this piece by Morrison and it details the lives of both Mother & Daughter of different families. With these different beliefs and familial structures we get to see how different one another is once grown into these structures. By the end one can argue however that they may be just the same.

03

A Midsummer Night's Dream

A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare will always make my list of favorites. It was the first literary work that I fell completely smitten with. This play will take you into, quite literally, a dream state. While four young people who's eyes have been blinded to love ride into a forest that itself has been enchanted with fairies. One fairy is quite mischievous and plays tricks that in the end bring the lovers closer together, but not before cheekily tearing them apart.

04

Julius Caesar

Yet another work by William Shakespeare! He is, of course, my favorite playwright of all time. You can't expect me to only include one of his works...right? Julius Caesar is the first work of Shakespeare that I read again and again and analyzed fiercely. This play chronicles the Caesar's death and betrayal with rich plots, characters, and lines that will stay with you for a lifetime.

05

Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban

This one always comes as a surprise to everyone! Truth is this is the first book that I ever read on my own. I was ten or eleven when it was published and I fell into the world of Harry Potter. Not only is this edition my favorite, I suggest it to anyone who is interested in the works!
